CINDERELLA - Steven Curtis Chapman
The scene opens.
A Father walks in. He towers over the stage. He has a strong, confident gait. He wields authority. His hands hold every crevice of the universe - nothing escapes His line of vision.
He illuminates light and splendour. He commands what we know to be angels to do His bidding on the universe. (Psalm 103:20) The universe holds steady within His grip. (Colossians 1:17).
Over the distance, a little girl runs across the stage towards Him. She wears a big wide smile and the sound of her little shoes tapping against the floor fills the room. He looks her way.
His face lights up. She rushes into His arms and He scoops her up. Almost immediately, Marla babbles about her day to her Father. She shows off her pretty little dress. His face beams with pride.
This scene repeats over and over again.
This time, she runs to her Father and babbles to Him about her upcoming prom. She is antsy about what dress to wear. What shoes to wear. He listens intently and proposes solutions. Not missing one step, not one word she says.
He promises to always take care of her.
Marla grows up. She runs to her Father and babbles about her job. Her coworkers. Her boss. He listens intently. Not missing one step, not one word she says.
She babbles about a friend she fell out with. He encourages her to forgive. She groans about her pain. He listens intently. Not missing one step, not one word she says.
She runs to Him and babbles about her wedding. Her service providers are acting up. She has two left feet. He listens intently. Not missing one step, not one word he says.
She runs to Him and babbles about her own babies. She is worried for their safety. He commits to take care of them. She believes Him. He doesn’t lie. He never does. He reminds of His promise to always take care of her.
She babbles about her grey hair. 😂 He reminds her that it is a sign of wisdom. 🙂↔️ (Proverbs 20:29) He reminds her that a crown of glory awaits her. And the loving arms of an everlasting Father.
He teaches her to stand firm. (Psalm 40:2) He teaches her to shoot an arrow. (Psalm 144:1). He heals her. (Psalm 107:20) He teaches her to pray. (Luke 11:1) He gives her a home. (Psalm 90:1) He caters to her every need. (Matthew 6:30) He cleans her up when she falls. (Zechariah 3:4) He is her anchor. (Hebrews 6:19) He wipes her tears. (Jeremiah 31:16)
PART 2: MY FATHER’S MINDFULNESS (this title is repeated from a previous blog) 😌I have listened to this song time and time again and have always come up with so many interpretations about it but recently, this new layer came to me.
This time, it told a story of a Father handling so many things (efficiently btw) while simultaneously tending to every single detail of His daughter.
He watched her grow even as her needs evolved and still tended to each and every single one of them. Right from her biggest problem was an injured butterfly to when her knees started to give out under the weight of old age.
I know I probably sound like a broken record by now but what manner of love! May He really open the eyes of our understanding to comprehend how mindful our Father is of us.
“May He grant you out of the riches of His glory, to be strengthened and spiritually energized with power through His Spirit in your inner self, [indwelling your innermost being and personality], so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through your faith. And may you, having been [deeply] rooted and [securely] grounded in love, be fully capable of comprehending with all the saints (God’s people) the width and length and height and depth of His love [fully experiencing that amazing, endless love]; and [that you may come] to know [practically, through personal experience] the love of Christ which far surpasses [mere] knowledge [without experience], that you may be filled up [throughout your being] to all the fullness of God [so that you may have the richest experience of God’s presence in your lives, completely filled and flooded with God Himself].”
Ephesians 3:16-19 AMP
