T/W : GRIEF
I am yet to meet anything or anyone potent enough to heal the human heart from grief except the Great Physician.
As the years go by, grief will morph into something the heart will always hold on to as a reminder that you once loved and the person is never forgotten. Sometimes, it is healthy. Most times, it is not. It often morphs into triggers with the capacity to manifest as irrational fear, anger, mood killers, isolation, resentment. An open door for all kinds of negativity and self - sabotage.
The Great Physician calls us however to lay all our burdens at His feet, because His yoke is easy and His burden is light. We would find rest for our souls - if we dared to let go. He is generous enough to give us the grace to let go too. This does not happen overnight, although He also majors in the impossible and may easily make it happen just as quickly - if it is within His will.
He is the only One capable of lifting the weight. Anything and anyone else just won't work.
So, release the grip on the trigger. May His love pry your hands off it and replace all of that with His everlasting love. Allow Him to turn those negative triggers into happy memories. Or at the very least, supernatural comfort.
If He cares enough to dress the lilies with so much beauty, imagine how much He would do with your broken heart in His hands. (which are marred with the scars of the beatings and nails He endured to set you free and heal you).
